The Beard
This IS a perfect game for sure
I sometimes ask myself why they didn’t resign victor martinez…. Then I remember he couldn’t throw out runners to save his life
He had one more inning in him that day.
I wouldn't be surprised if that ump got death threats.
The level of respect from Gala to come out and shake his hand, knowing he ruined the defining moment of his whole career, just shows that there are bigger things in life than just sports.
Still a very productive player today. I always remember this moment when I think about him.
I was there!
WSのMVPということもありヤンキースファンからしたら英雄扱い。あの辛口のヤンキースファンからここまで愛されるのは凄すぎる。
My brother and I experienced this game on radio broadcast on our way home from work. Believe me it was just as good if not better than watching it on tv. Our imagination and excitement was through the roof! Thanks stras for everything

Selfish player who retires to beat up his girlfriend in front of his 1-yr.-old daughter (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carl_Crawford#Personal_life). What do you expect?
MLB umpires are funny. For 9 innings they think they're the meanest man on the planet and can whip anybody. 🤣
R.I.P Roy Halladay
Phil Hughes was number 65 before Domingo German and Nestor Cortes
and joe buck wonders why everyone hates him as a play caller... zero energy, boring ass calls
Jeter, Wood, Aaron, Guerrero, Young, Kinsler- what a group of guys out there
hey mlb global put this in 1080p this video quality is horrible unwatchable at 360
1:03:38
It's on the league for not having video review at the time. Umpires are human, will make errors. No replay made these incidents unavoidable.
38:52 - Nava should’ve just retired after this.
This is Jim Joyces’ legacy - - failure
Funniest part of this video is Don Cooper’s animated walk Joe’s way
4:50:44 A controversial Safe call results in John Russell's ejection
I'm not even a tigers fan and I still don't forgive him. If it was close I would but it wasn't and even if it was close, give him the benefit of the doubt in that situation. No one would have cared if he called him out and it was a close, tough call.
I understand people make mistakes, but when it is THAT CLOSE, close enough for the you to hesitate before making the call, just give the guy the perfect game.
I respect Armando for giving Jim the line up, and giving him that pat on the back. You can tell Joyce felt terrible and remorseful. Armando has every right to feel vengeful, but he was classy just like Jim. And unfortunate misunderstanding, but among men who don’t let egos prevail.
I would beg to differ a little bit with the announcers comment that none of this would be possible without Galarraga‘s grace. I think none of this would be possible without the class and humility. that Jim Joyce showed.
American umpires are just garbage
Jim Joyce is the umpire version of Bill Buckner. An incredible career completely overshadowed by an unfortunate mistake at the most inopportune time
He was never the same
Joyce made a mistake and owned up to it. He's not an egotistical jack dick like Hernandez
Damn, bunch of Navy SEALs in this comment section lmfao
14 years later and I'm still upset. The only 28 out Perfect Game.
This is precisely what happens when umpires feel they’re bigger than the game. Doesn’t matter if you apologize, you had a chance to fix your fuck up and you consciously chose not to. complete disgrace
Alguien que traduzca en español, me imagino que le pide disculpas por ese error garrafal que tuvo el umpire
Angel Hernandez would have booted Galarraga out of the game.
It’s crazy how many people in the comments were at this game. This was the first and only baseball game I ever went to see. I was thirteen sitting left of home plate. I played “The Bigs” a lot and Berkman was always my favorite player. I knew how hard he could hit a ball. I was horrified when I saw that pitcher get hit by a line drive from the puma. Fun fact, this was his debut with the pirates!
So because this idiot cries everyone is like awww it's ok! It's not. Bring on the robots. Fuck umpires.
this is the most amazing video i’ve ever seen 🤣🤣🤣
3:05:12 F*CK YEAH
13 fucking years ago who cares??.
I was at this game
I was at this game but only eatching it through the hotel bar.
Whatever Jim Joyce, it will always be about you
God do i miss this team
I love how some umps make some awful calls then eject players for being pissed about their mistakes.
Why did MLB let the error of one man ruin the perfection of another. I gave up on baseball that day.
It was a perfect game. I don't care what anyone says.
On the other end of spectrum....the last out of phil humber's perfect game is controvesial.....the batter barely moved the bat.....
